    Abstract

    Today, information technology has provided into almost every industry in the country. Institutions and Universities today are moving towards paperless environment and computerized their current systems to ensure smoother operations in the daily running operation. Student Marks Management System (SMMS) is introduced as to give a new impulse for the Institution and Universities to gain competitive advantages. SMMS is a web-based system develops with the objectives to computerized the current students' marks management system that are using in FSKTM. Besides, SMMS also defines the current problems that are facing by the user to ensure the proposed system will overcome these problems. The system allow authorize user to keep track of all the related students marks in the FSKTM. It can be accessible through common browser and thus no installment of application in the user's workstation is needed. This system is an idea from Dr. Mazliza Othman. This project i considered as a part of the e-faculty vision that provides greater conveniences and interaction between lecturers and tutors. Beside, that SMMS will also fulfills the aim of e-faculty vision of creating a paperless working environment. The lecturer can use SMMS as a platform to view or monitor the most updated student's marks. For the tutor the will have a standard way to manage students' marks. These will significantly reduce the workload on both lecturer and tutor besides increasing the efficiency and simplicity for the staff in FSKTM. This report introduces the project and provides a description on the topics studied and researched during the literature review. It also describe the software development process the occurred in the project with the details on the system analysis and design.
