Abstract
Digital Computer Centre (DCC) is a hardware pricing system. The principle of the DCC web application is to provide information to the public. There are no online transactions provided and the information is totally free. Users can gain access to the system in any time, at any where, as long as the Internet service is available. There are user login will be requested to retrieve information from the system. A lot of literature review has been studied to understand the system and most of the relevant information has been documented into the report. The research includes the performance of development platform, web server and technologies compatibility, powerful development tools and database management system. The methodology that is used to develop the system is The Unified Process, which is based on the object-oriented concept. This methodology will be applied all the way until the end of the software development life cycle. The brief description of the methodology is stated in the report. Extensive research has been carried on during the system analysis and design. This has to be done to ensure a good modelling of the system requirements, as well as the accuracy in the design phase. Since the analysis and design process is take advantage of the UML, it is easier to model the behaviour of the objects and also the database design. It is hope that this documentation will provide useful information to other people regarding to the system being developed.
